Subtle watercolor washes paired with simple, botanical line drawings really let this modern vintage suite shine. Tying it all together (literally) with hand-dyed silk ribbons, natural envelopes, and vintage postage stamps bring some old-world charm into today.
Heather and Matt wanted a simple, romantic wedding, surrounded by family, friends, and wine! Overlooking a picturesque vineyard in upstate New York, their custom illustrated wedding suite fit right into the landscape. Airy, summertime florals like peonies and hydrangeas are a favorite of the bride’s, so incorporating those, along with the couple’s two adorable wiener dogs, brought an extra personal touch to a beautiful day.
A true New York love story, Alex and Emmanuel moved together to a charming Brooklyn neighborhood to expand their family by a fur-baby of one! An intimate ceremony followed by a reception in a historical brownstone called for a custom portrait invitation featuring the architecture (and pup) they love so much. Adding a hand-painted welcome sign showcasing some of the beautiful dried flowers of the bride’s bouquet was a project I just couldn’t resist.
The dreamy Brooklyn Historical Society venue set the tone for Lisa and Marcus’s rich, fall-inspired color story. Sponsored by The Big Fake Wedding, this fun vow renewal event pulled out all the stops, and so did their custom wedding suite! I combined a whimsical portrait save-the-date with deep burgundy and olive watercolor washes, hand painted foliage, and an elegant venue illustration to really capture the energy of this special couple.
With a venue this stately, it must be showcased! Opting for a simple yet elegant save-the-date postcard, Emma and Joe let my illustrations truly shine. Continuing with hand-painted artwork inspired by the bride’s future bouquet, check back in to see how the rest of their stunning suite comes together!
I am a true believer that no detail is too small to make an impact, and these hand-embellished name cards are a perfect testament! Something as simple as refined font paired with a brush stroke of metallic gold paint adds smart design to a necessary wedding day staple.
Liz and Mike were married in a romantic brewery setting in Troy, New York, surrounded by lush winter greenery that the bride used to make her own bouquet, center pieces, and ceremony backdrop. Inspired to do her handiwork justice, I incorporated modern, geometric shapes into the hand-painted botanical artwork that decorated their custom invitation and table numbers. Combined with twinkle lights and glowing candles, this cozy December wedding was so filled with love.
This NYC-based couple was inspired by their city and the fun, modern Queens Museum venue of their special day. Tammy’s favorite peacock-feather hues set the color story, and my illustrations can be found everywhere from their custom portrait invitation suite (pup Emmy included), to the whimsical table numbers featuring the NYC skyline. Can you also spot their favor boxes complete with custom stickers? I love working with such fun and creative couples!
